Powers of attorney
I went to university after doing my GCSE's and A-Levels at Waltham Toll Bar School and Sixth Form (as it was then) and I graduated from Keele University in 2002 with a 2:1 in Law and German. As part
of my dual honours degree, I studied for a year at the University of Frankfurt and had the opportunity of visiting different cities in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland and also
saw Robbie Williams live in concert for the first time! After graduation, I worked as a paralegal in a small, busy conveyancing department before deciding that I was going to return to university in
2003 to study the LPC with a view to becoming a solicitor. I studied the LPC at Sheffield University and supported myself by working in a litigiation department in Doncaster. I was incredibly proud
to be awarded a distinction at the LPC.
I undertook my training contract at Hetts in Scunthorpe where I qualified as a solicitor in August 2006. I left Hetts in December 2013 after gaining a wealth of experience in all areas of
non-contentious legal work and some litigation work, particularly housing and repossession work. After leaving Hetts, I took a fixed term contract in a busy conveyancing department prior to the dream
of Barrass White Legal becoming a reality.
I enjoy working as a solicitor, particularly in areas of Private and Elderly Client. I find this area of work very rewarding and my clients are appreciative of the care and attention that I give to
them. I have a broad range of experience and enjoy having a mixed caseload of different matters. I particularly like offering clients the full range of services that they may require over the years,
from drafting a Power of Attorney and Will, to acting in the sale of the property and ultimately assisting with the probate.
I am married with two young children, aged 6 and 4 and I enjoy taking my children out for family days and experiencing the world through their eyes. They are a reminder to slow down and enjoy the
simple things in life.
